Under Armour to supply ECB

Under Armour, a leading developer, marketer and distributor of branded performance products from the US has announced it will be the official supplier to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), of undergarments for the national squads.

Under Armour’s range of products is engineered to wick moisture away from the skin instead of absorbing it, enabling players to feel drier, lighter and more comfortable.

"A growing number of athletes around the globe demand the performance advantage that our gear provides, and we’re excited to provide England cricketers with products that will help them be their best," said Ryan Wood, president of Under Armour Europe.

Under Armour will outfit the men’s and women’s squads, including the U-19 and the National Academy during the 2006 and 2007 seasons. The deal encompasses such high profile, major sporting events as the 2007 World Cup in the West Indies and the 2006-2007 England vs Australia Ashes series.

The teams will use Under Armour’s full range, including HeatGear, for hot conditions, ColdGear, for colder conditions and the company’s latest evolution UA Metal™.
